In the spring of 1997, I found myself emotionally paralyzed by the death of one of the two people I loved the most in this world. Fortunately one day, I had a strong impulse to color with my daughter’s crayons in her coloring books. I found that the sound of the crayon rubbing against the pages of the coloring book soothed my soul and the color that appeared on the pages pleased me.
